A Life-Changing Mission to Ghana: Healing, Faith, and Transformation

Ghana

I left Melbourne on Friday, November 15, and arrived in Ghana on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Pastor Samuel picked me up from the airport.

Took a selfie at an international airport departures area, preparing for their mission trip to Ghana.

When we arrived in Accra, Samuel took me to church. We had a great conversation, and, of course, I had lunch, which was an incredible time for fellowship and getting to know each other. He then brought me to the hotel room where I was staying. I had a short time of worship, closed my eyes, and slept for a while, and then Samuel picked me up and went out for dinner.

Sunday, I awoke at 3 a.m. and talked and dreamt with God. At 4 a.m. I read in preparation and prayed for the day. I’m sharing Luke 4:18 this morning and look forward to participating in what God wants to do. There is already an expectation, which is incredible.

Sunday’s service started with lots of worship.

We had a powerful time praying for the sick and encouraging others to pray once they had received healing. We had testimonies of God healing His sons and daughters. Backs, necks, stomachs, and headaches were healed. We prayed for God’s anointing through Jesus to be released. The Holy Spirit was so tangible that people fell over in His power. Demons were cast out of several people as the Holy Spirit kept pouring out. I don’t know how long it took, but it was a powerful time.

Thank you, Jesus. It was truly incredible.

Ho – LNI Conference

Monday

We were leaving Accra for the city of Ho, which is about a four-and-a-half-hour journey. I was picked up at 4:30 a.m.  The roads were pretty empty at that time in the morning. We were in a little car, and five of us were all squished in with Bibles, bags, food, and water. The lights on the car were like candlesticks; honestly, it was very hard to see. There was no traffic in the morning, so driving slowly was not an option, lol.

We arrived safe and sound, Samuel commenced the conference with a great word about Jesus’ focus and knowledge of His assignment: our lives need to be the same as Jesus’s. He then prayed corporately.

I shared how we are to go into the world, and the Holy Spirit told me I was to pray for them, to be Ministers of flames of fire. We prayed for 90% of the Pastors and Leaders, and there was a great response to the word. It was a powerful time in prayer that the fire had been stoked again.

The night session:

The power went off in the afternoon, and we hoped it would come back on as we left our hotel room, which had a generator. We drove into complete darkness. There were no lights as we drove up to the church. The congregation was worshipping and praying, and I was like, “Ha ha, wow, we’re going to continue.”

The first thing I thought about was how hungry they were for God. They wanted to hear what I said, which was humbling and honouring. We kept praying and hoping the lights would come on, but they didn’t.

Pastor Samuel introduced me. I preached from the light from my tablet and the lights from those with phones. It was crazy.

Sharing from Mark 2: 1- 12. I ministered on sin and unforgiveness, two keys to healing and setting people free. I then began to pray for people. There were many stomach complaints. Holy Spirit revealed curses, so I called all the people with stomach problems and prayed and broke the curse with the blood of Jesus. I then prayed for backs and a man with a chest infection and prayed for several others. Prayed blessings over them, a fantastic night; much joy and freedom were released.

Tuesday

It was extremely hot, with no breeze. Pastor Samuel began by sharing a great message built on yesterday’s discussion. He used Jesus as a model to demonstrate how He succeeded in ministry and unpacked this well. His message was terrific. You can undoubtedly see Pastor Samuel’s leadership in his delivery.

We had a two-minute break, and then I shared and discussed how the baton has been passed onto us and how our stories are being written. I had them read different scripture passages from the Book of Acts, including signs, wonders, and miracles. I invited everyone who wanted prayer and those seeking the anointing and the gift of faith to believe that all things are possible. We had a good response to prayer.

Group of believers proudly holding their new Bibles

An elderly gentleman from my home Church donated enough money to buy Bibles. It was such a blessing to give Bibles to everyone, and the theme of the conferences was based on Mark 9:23: “It is possible for anyone who believes.” We were able to take some photos of the Bibles being distributed as leaders handed them out to people in their congregations, and it was a special moment. I look forward to sharing the pictures with the gentleman who donated the money.

One of the men shared his testimony after being prayed for healing, how he slept peacefully, and how his chest was healed. He had pain in it, and the pain was gone.

Tuesday night session wasn’t easy; it was a real battle, tiredness, and battle in the spiritual realm, and we were contending. Sharing on the woman with the issue of blood and blind Bart, I had to stop, and I stepped into teaching the people how to heal the sick. Wow, what a turnaround! I was given words of knowledge, and people came up for prayer.

I asked the pastors if they would like to have a go. LOL, no one wanted to. I told the interpreter to have a go, and he nailed it with ear problems. Two people had ear problems, and I encouraged them to pray for each other. The gifts of healing and faith were then released.

Between 2013 and 2015, I wrote a Healing Manual. I was so disappointed that no one was interested in it, and I didn’t receive any feedback. But God has a plan, and I could use some of it during this time. His timing is always Perfect. Thank you, Jesus.

It has been amazing how the Holy Spirit has used me. It has been the most powerful conference that I have been involved in. God has challenged my heart many times; it’s very humbling.

Wednesday

Around 7:30 in the morning, we jumped in the car and headed back to Accra as soon as we finished breakfast. We had a four-hour trip ahead of us and decided to take a different route. It was a bit longer by road, but there was much less traffic. After arriving back in Accura, Samuel and I went out for lunch, and we just chatted and discussed many ideas and began talking about the next time I came, which was good.

It’s great to know that they wanted me to come back.

LEADERS NETWORK CONFERENCE ACCRA

At 6:30 p.m. the Conference commenced. They had been worshipping and praying for some time. The presence of God was thick. I love the way they sing. It’s just so powerful and so passionate. The worship team and the choir sang, which was wonderful and powerful. I told Samuel I was quite happy to sit and soak without sharing. He looked at me, saying with the look of no, you’re going to preach, so they invited me up to share and share on the Holy Spirit.

We had a powerful night. Some ladies were impacted by the Holy Spirit and spent a long time on the floor. The worship team was fantastic. As I was praying, they would watch, and when I went to grab the microphone, they would be quiet waiting for me to speak, and then as soon as I’d finish prophesying into somebody’s life, they would begin to sing again. I just sensed this tremendous joy overflowing in the house. After inviting everyone to the front, we danced, clapped, and sang, and the joy grew stronger. What a fantastic way to finish the night off. Thank you, Jesus

Thursday

Statue of former President Kwa at the memorial park

We did some sightseeing and visited the Memorial Park of former President Kwame Nkrumah. He was a visionary and made a remarkable difference during his short time as President.

We had another powerful night. I was able to teach about healing the sick, and then we put it into practice by asking God for words of knowledge. A few of the girls nailed it, which was so amazing. We started praying. God started to move powerfully, and we witnessed Demons coming out of one lady who was trying to hold onto another lady as she was being set free. The lady next to her was placing a hand on her leg. She Wouldn’t let her go because the Demons in her wanted to go into the other lady. They were both set free and filled with the Holy Spirit, Freedom. Praise God’s. Jesus came to set the captives free, and we saw freedom tonight.

Friday

We drove to the orphanage in the morning. Wow, it’s heartbreaking; those poor little ones are just left and only have each other and their leaders. Their conditions are pretty poor. The little ones broke my heart, and I wanted to give whatever I could. The school is not completed; they require school equipment and food donations. I will continue to speak with Samuel regarding the orphanage. The Road back home to Accra was horrendous; we took a detour, and seriously, I didn’t think we were going to get back home; one of the hills was so steep and corrugated that we had to get out of the car, and just managed to get over the hill. Some people in four-wheel drives would not have attempted the hill. Thankfully, we managed to find our way. The roads through these country towns are so bad.

We had lunch at the church. It was nice to sit and talk. We returned to the room, thinking the Wi-Fi would be available, but there was none. It was frustrating.

Friday night service, once again, God just moved so powerfully. Spoke from Mark 2 about friends and how you know good friends in your life. I also spoke about forgiveness, as I only touched on it the other day, but we didn’t press in; the Response is that so many people had hurt in their lives because people had hurt them, and they had not forgiven them and moved on, and we prayed for healing again. The Lord moved powerfully. The Holy Spirit released all those who hurt, but then we prayed for sicknesses and had a lady who had a sore knee that as she squatted, the Holy Spirit healed her, and the meeting broke open with the power of the Holy Spirit pouring out. Thank you, Lord.

Mal praying for healing and wellness of sick individuals

We prayed for stomachs again, sore throats, and as I was praying for people with different sicknesses a young man had his hands over his face. and I believed he was demon-possessed, so I left him to last and started praying for him, and he started convulsions. He fell to the ground, and I asked him questions, “Is Jesus Christ Lord and Saviour”? and He mumbled something I thought he’s not delivered yet. I prayed in the name of Jesus to come and remove the Demon; he started manifesting, punching the ground, and almost lifting himself off the ground. As he punched the ground, I counted three demons, and peace came over and filled with the Holy Spirit. On this trip, I have seen many demons delivered from people’s lives. When you see them the next day, they are free. Their countenance changes, and they come alive. They are free from captivity and no longer oppressed; that’s what Jesus came to do: set us free.

LNI conference

Saturday

Preaching and praying during a group worship session

We had a long-time friend of Pastor Samuels open with the first session.

Samuel shared again on being successful with a focused life in Jesus

I went with a few scriptures from Jeremiah to share and shared testimonies of what has happened over the last week.
We discussed how God is the truth and the need for faith. I also spoke to Ministers: You are flames of fire, and if your flame has been run down, rekindle the fire. God poured out His Spirit again. It was truly amazing; fire fell, and all there had powerful encounters.

We went out for dinner with all the young ones, and the food was ordinary at best lol. I couldn’t even touch mine, too hot and spicy.

Sunday

Person being baptized at the beach

Preached in the first session, prayed for some older men for healing. One had a stroke, and one received improvement in his eyes.

We had lunch and then went to the beach to watch a Water Baptism. Four people were Baptised. It was a special way to end the trip to Ghana.

I was dropped off at the airport and began my trip back to Australia, seeing God’s favour with empty seats next to me on the plane.
